James M. Palumbo is a Corporate Business Advisor focusing on the Consumer Electronic Industry and currently serves in a leadership role as President of the Plasma Display Coalition based in New Jersey. The Coalition᾿s founding members are Hitachi, LG, Panasonic, Pioneer and Samsung. The Coalition᾿s mission is to promote the growth of the Plasma television market in the United States and to encourage the understanding of the benefits and advantages of Plasma TV in home entertainment.

Prior to founding his Advisory practice, James held key executive positions with Sony during a successful 32 year career. In 2001, he was named President/CEO of Aiwa North America, a Sony Corp. subsidiary, where he was responsible for integrating the brand into Sony after its 100 percent acquisition.

James served as Senior Vice President of External Affairs for Sony Electronics where the Technology Standards Office, Wireless, Industry, Government and Community Affairs groups were under his leadership. His responsibilities included leading cross industry initiatives in technology and standards.

For nine years, as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales of Sony Consumer Television and Digital Products, James led, among other initiatives, the highly successful introductions of Sony High-Definition (HDTV) and WEGA flat screen televisions, and Sony brand DirecTV receivers. Under James᾿ leadership, Sony enjoyed a number one position in the consumer television industry. He also served as Senior Vice President of Sales and held other key sales management positions for Sony Electronics prior to moving to headquarters.

James served as Chairman of the Video Board of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and continues to hold a position on the Board of Executive Advisors of the Northern Illinois University business school, his alma mater.

James resides in New Jersey with his wife Nancy and son, Tyler.
